Jacke Phillips is Research and Teaching Fellow in the Department of Art History and Archaeology, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and Visiting Scholar at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, University of Cambridge. She has 30 years fieldwork experience in Sudan, as well as in Ethiopia, Greece, Egypt and Qatar.  Her interests focus on material typologies and cross-acculturations within the East Mediterranean, Northeast Africa and over the Red Sea.
