Rachael J Dann is co-director of the International Kurru Archaeological Project, and is Associate Professor of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology at the University of Copenhagen. She studied Egyptology (MPhil) at Cambridge University, and Archaeology (PhD) at Durham University. Her research interests include the archaeology of death, sensory aspects of archaeology, and inter-disciplinary approaches, particularly the developing relationship between archaeology and contemporary art practitioners. She is the author of The Archaeology of Late Antique Sudan: Aesthetics and Identity in the Royal X-Group Tombs at Qustul and Ballana (Cambria Press).
